The clinical pathway option for board certification in Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine given by the American Osteopathic Conjoint Committee of Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine (AOCUHM) will expire on December 31, 2013, after which only the fellowship option will be allowed. For complete details, visit: www.aocuhm.org. The final clinical pathway exam will be offered at the OMED Conference in the Fall of 2013.

Vikas Kapil DO, MPH, Chief Medical Officer at National Center for Environmental Health, part of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, was quoted by Bloomberg News in the article Fraking Moratorium Urged by US Doctors Until Health Studies Conducted

Murray Goldstein, DO, MPH,  FAAN, FAOCOPM, one of our “Great Pioneers” in Osteopathic Medicine & this College, was selected by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) as a merit reviewer for its Pilot Projects grants.  The PCORI was established by Congress as part of the Affordable Care Act to provide patients and physicians with evidence-based information about their health care treatment options.  Dr. Goldstein’s role will be to determine the significance and quality of research proposals submitted to PCORI covering a wide range of research topics.
