Keith Proctor

Dr. Keith Proctor is a prior Navy enlisted engine room mechanic.  After 18 years of service, he had the opportunity to pursue medical education utilizing a Navy scholarship.  His interest in the medical field, coupled with an interest in Industrial Hygiene and years of blue-collar work, seemed to be natural progression into the specialty of Occupational Medicine.  After graduating from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (Blacksburg) and upon completion of an internship in West Virginia, he commenced both residency training and the MSPH degree at the University of South Florida in Tampa.  After completing the residency program, he returned to active duty as an OM physician at the Navy Submarine Base in Groton, Connecticut.

Upon retiring from the Navy in 2014, Dr. Proctor commenced a Correctional Medicine fellowship in Orlando, Florida (through Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine) and remains peripherally involved in Correctional Medicine.  After fellowship training, Dr. Proctor returned to Occupational Medicine, taking a position at the Y-12 National Security Complex, a DOE facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.  Following that position, he became a site physician at the Blue Grass Army Depot, a chemical munitions facility in Richmond, Kentucky, where he currently continues the practice of Occupational Medicine.

In addition to CBRNE and Correctional Medicine topics, Dr. Proctor enjoys discussing general aviation (“hangar flying”) and all his stories are mostly true.
